In case you missed it, I changed my username. The old one was ooolllldddd, and I've wanted to get rid of it for ages. This one comes with a story!
Things are changing for me.
In December, my mom passed away suddenly. My world turned upside down. Still not dealing very well.
She, my dad and I had all been talking about buying an acreage. As she passed away at home, neither my dad nor I wanted to stay here any longer. So after a few months of searching, we found a gorgeous little place in Cremona! It has two huge gardens that we're planting with veggies, lots of space, a workshop for me (adorb little building!), and a small woods! I love it.
I've named it Wormwood Fell - fell meaning hill, as we're on a little hill - and so my name change here is complete. Unfortunately a lot of wormwood names were taken, so this one'll do.
In other news: I didn't end up going back to school due to mom's passing and decided, with the help of my best friend and my family members, to focus on working on actual art instead of just school work. I may go back in the future, part time, we'll see.
For now, I am doing a lot of copic work - which you can see in my gallery - and planning jewellery for when I get my space set up at Wormwood Fell. I've done a few commissions, and am hoping to do more as time goes on... Currently I'm just doing a bunch of fan arts and trying to figure out that whole online marketing business, and prices and whatnot.
It's a little hard moving away from my friends, but it's only around 45 minutes outside the city, so I can drive in to see people whenever I want. I've been really antisocial since xmas, anyway, so at least I'll be making an effort, and hopefully making new friends in town.
I think that's about it.
Oh yeah, I met Robert Englund at the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo 2012. Yeah. He is awesome.

Also John Noble and Jasika Nicole briefly, though I mostly cried at them because Fringe was the main show mom and I watched together, and it was really hard to think how much she would have wanted to meet them. I also saw James Marsters in concert, and met artist and wife of Romantically Apocalyptic (webcomic!) It was a pretty good weekend, most of it spent volunteering in autograph lines. Well worth it! I hung out near the TNG cast, Stan Lee, Adam Baldwin, James Marsters, John and Jasika, Adam West, and Robert Englund.

Yes, I am a geeky fangirl!
